Potential Owner with Questions...

I'm looking at the 17-18ft Bayliner boats, runabouts I believe they call them. This will be a family boat mainly for cruising around the lakes as well as tubing and skiing.

Are there any years I should look out for? What should I know about these boats before buying? I am going to buy used, no earlier then a '06. The newer the better unless there are issues.

I am a bit partial (I think) to the 17ft then the 18ft. The last I checked it was around 400lbs lighter and just 6 inches in inside length smaller then the 18ft.

Thanks in advance!

Before you decide on 17 vs 18 vs 19 make sure you actually water test them and check the passenger/weight capacity to make sure it suits your needs. For me the 17s and 18's sit way too low in the water to be practical on larger lakes and they don't carry much of a load.

Shouldn't be any issues in general with 06 + boats, it is the condition of the specific boat that is important. Was it maintained, left sitting out in the weather uncovered, etc.
