Hello,

I have a 72 (I believe) 65hp Evinrude triumph with a lot of lower unit issues.

My friend just blew the power head on his 69 starlight that has a manual lower unit that he just rebuilt.

Would It be possible to take my power head and put it on his lower unit?

Welcome to iboats.

No

Crankshaft/Driveshaft Splines are different, and even if they were the same, the Gear Ratios are no where close to each other

Agreed---No chance it will fit.----Are you sure your friend has a 69 V-4 with a manual shift lower unit ?

That's what he has told me, I asked him to send me the model number so I can look into it further. I know for certain it's a 4 cylinder.

I think splines are the same.----I do not believe there was a manual shift V-4 marketed in 1969.----Post the model # here.

Update, it's apparently a 1960 model 50523-16847

Doesn't sound like it'll work unfortunately.

Does anyone know where to get decent parts for the old hydro-electric shift?
