I have a '96 Force 70hp outboard. The other day while out, i was lifting the motor to troll in the shallows, when the lift motor started to sound lke it was laboring or was low or out of fluid. I cut my fishing trip short and headed back. When I got to the dock, the lift didnt work. The relays would click , but no lift or lower. When I got home, I check the fluid, no pressure, but the fluid ran out. The motor is only half way up, and your supposed to check it when its up all the way. I tried some spare relays, but nothing. When i checked the wiring from the pump to the motor, i found a bare wire at the pump housing. Did I mention I just bought this boat? Anyhow, it was taped up pretty well, i tried the switch and wiggling the wire, nothing. What should i look at next?
