Engine: 93 Mariner 200 Magnum EFI

After running at 30MPH for 4 miles, I shut her down to an idle. As soon as I did that, the oil warning horn sounded. I immediately shut off the engine, popped the cowl and started checking. Engine oil reservoir was full and clear hose from oil pump was full. I started the engine and checked the LED on the water sensor. It did not illuminate. I started the engine again to see if the engine smoked (leading me to believe I'm getting oil). It did smoke, so I'm thinking faulty alarm. I put it in gear and gave it a little gas, but it bogged down. After this, I immediately shut it down and trolled back to the ramp. Before I start getting in too deep, does anyone have any theories of why I would get a power loss and oil warning alarm at the same time? By the way, the oil reservoir cap is new.

Re: Power Loss and Oil Warning

BassScratcher, did you ever sort this problem out. My boat has a similar problem, would be interested to know if you fixed it.
