Power loss at high speed

I have an older model chysler 20 horse outboard that has done wonderfully until recently. Now every time I try and open her up she refuses. It seems like it is missing a gear or something. It does fine at lower speeds but is having trouble at higher speeds. I know nothing about motors and don't even know where to start trouble shooting. Christian, A good place to start would be to obtain a manual for your motor.Then any questions you have can be touched on.Sounds like you possibly are due for a carb rebuild although it would be advisable to check out the entire fuel system and cooling system of motor.
