Howdy folks,

I have a v-6 buick 155 horse with OMC outdrive. Everything is working great right now except one thing: When I'm at idle and gas it, it surges, sometimes backfires and then takes off like a rocket. Not sure what it's all about, but I realized why they put flame arrestors on the carb! LOL

Thanks for any info!

Check point Gap and timing with dwell meter, also see if your getting a decent shot of fuel from the carb via accel.pump and that carb is not flooding out when running a idle speeds.

Ithrowgirls .. sorry about the confusion, Check and/or set your points Gap, Then with a timing light check your timing, and dwell angle, some timing lights have a built in dwell meter, but in order to do this you will need the correct specs for your motor...I'm unable to tell you what the spec are hopefully another board member will know that info.
