Power pilot model control boxes for 35 hp

I have a 1978 35hp Evinrude outboard motor Model number is 35853R I was wondering if control box number 281578 will work with it?

what is 281578. this will work with your motor, is it electric start you mount switch on dash or side panel.

That is the model number of a power pilot control box currently on Ebay, here is the add:
This is a nice, unused OMC Evinrude Power Pilot Control model number 281578. It states on the box it is for 2-cylinder and 3-cylinder motors only.
It has a fast idle/start lift-up level, a throttle friction knob and TWO keys.
The cable with the red plug is about 17 feet long. The negative battery cable is about 7 1/2 feet long and the positive battery cable is about 8 feet long.
Please check the number to be sure this will work with your motor.

as long as it has the big red plug on the wiring harness it should work, no problems.
