Power source to Johnson gauges?

Have a 90HP Johnson 2-cycle, year 2000. Yesterday some of my gauges stopped working: fuel gauge, tach and voltmeter. But ignition and all accessories still worked, as did the separate overheat/oil alarm-gauge.

Are the tach/voltmeter/fuel gauges powered by a different source from the overheat alarm? Answer would help me narrow down the source of problem.

Check the back of those gauges to see if they are powered by a purple wire looped from gauge to gauge, it may have come loose or broke. Also trace the purple wire for a fuse. Also check them for a common ground wire, usually black, that may be broken.
