Power steering oil cooler

Hi guys.....I purchased a ebbtide 180 riveara that has the mercruiser 165 4 cylinder in it. Was out on the water the other day and noticed the top oil cooler nipple was leaking. I tightened the hose clamp,but that didnt seem to work. I also cut the hose back a little thinking the clamp damaged the hose and put it back on and tightened it back down,still the same problem. It drips as if the hose isnt tight enough..........any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

more likely the clamp being used is too large a diameter remove the clamp and tighten down the screw all the way to see if it stays "round"; and is small enough in diameter. if not use a smaller clamp. sometimes call "mini`s" for 3/8 ths rubber hose.
