Power steering pump

I’ve got a bad power steering pump and I’m looking at the replacements from the local auto shops. The number on my casting is 7830247 which comes up as a Ford pump in google. Either way, I’m going to find one that fits my reservoir but here’s my question. Where is this spring that’s talked about in this thread? I pulled the pressure valve to use in my new pump but there is no spring to be found. I did find a few magnets and some melted plastic, kind of looks like it used to be a filter. Anyway, any help is appreciated!

if you need a GM saginaw pump, just buy the pump and transfer to your can. the pump is only $50

I’m back!
I bought a new pump (car quest pn 20-661) and a new high pressure line because the old one blew the crimp connection which caused the pump to fail in the first place.

I took the boat out and everything worked!! For about 10 minutes. The hose blew again! I salvaged the pump this time due to the smell of hot hydraulic fluid, but dang! Anyway, what are the chances of having the same problem twice in this case, especially from a new hose. Any ideas why I’ve blown 2 high pressure hoses?

If your blowing the hose your not moving any oil thru the actuator back thru the return line to the pump pump pressure is in the 2K psi range
