I have a leak at the fitting on the side that goes into the actuator. He drained and tightened to make sure wasnt cross thread. It looks to be the line that runs to the oil cooler. 2 questions....1. Any chance I would use car power steering leak fixed? 2. Assuming #1 is a no anything special about swapping that part out?

Thanks in advance!

Ayuh,...... #1, What is that supposed to mean,..?? Leak Fixed,..??

#2, Which part,..??

If it's the low pressure return line, if the fitting is the older screw in fitting, it's exactly the same as an automotive brake line fitting,..... an inverted flare,....

If it leaks, either the hose end fitting, or the hole in the steering actuator is damaged,.....

Sorry 1 was supposed to be leak fix...apparently its stuff you put in the reservoir and it stops leaks of cracked hoses, repairs and restores seals. Probably won't work bc of the difference in time a boat is consistently running vs a car.

2. It's a 92 and looks like an inverted flare. The leak is coming from where the fitting crimps to the tube. At the actuator its dry as a bone.

Any other quick fixes since it's the low pressure line? Flex tape...just kidding.

Cut off the crimp, 'n secure it with double hose clamps,......

Probably a dumb question, but how do I cutoff the crimp, and what would I attach the double hose clamps too. The low pressure is the one that goes to the oil cooler, right.

Ayuh,..... I'd cut the crimp with my grinder, 'n a cut-off wheel,.....
A couple length-wise cuts through just the crimp band, into the rubber, then bust off the bits,....

You clamp the hose to the steel pipe within the crimp,.....

Or, go buy an automotive brake line with that fitting on it, 'n build a stub out of it,.....

Yes, the low pressure side is the smaller tube, that goes to the cooler, 'n then to the pump's tank,...
