Power tilt and trim

1977 175 johnson.
Tilt/Trim motor runs but no response from engine. Filled reservoir with motor in the up position and checked manual override screw. seems tight. No leaks but I'm stumped on this one.
Any suggestions?

Did your locking lever get flipped down, by accident?

If nothing simple then throw a rope over a branch and try pulling up the engine. If it moves then you've blown out a hydraulic seal somewhere. most trim pumps can't pump fluid fast enough to overcome a blown seal. I don't show a 175HP in '77. Is it same trim system as a 115? oops, i found it now. still same. try rope over branch. it should be rock solid if all your seals are good.
