is it possible to put a power tilt mechanism on an regular outboard?

or do I have to get another outboard that has power tilt??

Casi, You can install an OEM unit or aftermarket as Sleepinin has suggested. The old mercs (70's) used a couple of PTT-unique parts to replace the standard parts on the outboard clamp bracket. These parts plus the pump, trim cylinders and hoses completed the PTT conversion. If you ID the motor you would like to convert, specific info may be avail.
