Im not sure what the exact name is but its the pump for the tilt/trim. Its on 1987 Mercruiser 3.0 135 hp alpha 1 drive. I have posted several threads for this problem and i have come to the conclusion that the "pump" is not working properly. It works sometimes then quites. Then there is clicking in the solenoids (which I just replaced). the pump is getting power but is not working all of the time. From the links to the service manual in the last thread it said something about the brushes it the motor. Can this motor be rebuilt? When I take the hydrolic lines off is there pressure in them. Can I get a link for a new pump so I can get a figure on the price. Any suggestions on an alternate solution or other things I might need to check. Im kind of lost when it comes to the power tilt/trim stuff. Im not sure how all of that works. Maybe someone can explain to me how the pump motor works so I can better under stand it. Sorry for the confusion and Thanks for any help.

If you Google "Doug Russell" it will take you to a a part place at times they have a NEW pump in the 300 dollar range

You can take it apart BUT it way not come apart after 20 years  and the parts cost a good bit of money

When you say "the pump is getting power but is not working all of the time" you mean that you can't hear the noise of the motor? If so 99% it's the brushes (assuming that at that moment you have the 12V across its terminals, you can check with a bulb),relatively easy job to change and almost no cost in comparison with buying a new pump
