Power Tilt ; Will this work?

I have a 1977 Johnson 85hp(4 cyl) outboard. Friend has a 1973, I think, Johnson 70hp (3cyl). He is willing to swap out the power tilt from his 70hp to my 85hp. The question is did OMC use the same tilt setup on the 3 cylinder motors as the 4 cylinder motors? Thanks in advance, Al

You can do the swap, Al. OMC used three only very slightly different tnt units in that era, and they are interchangable.<br />Good luck.<br />JB
