Wont hold position. Ohter than that works great. Can anything be done. I have to adjust every 30 secs or so to keep the enginge at peak trim.<br /><br />Actually I wish this was still the problem. Yesterday after 3 hours on the lake the power trim stopped working all together. No noise no nothing. Suggestions please

I had this problem on my 85. Check and be sure the fluid is full. Mine had a knurled thumb screw on the side of the pump assy. I filled it with jack oil and it worked fine.

The owners manual says to use 30 weight engine oil for the tilt/trim. It sounds like your seals in the cylinder are leaking down or maybe the valves in the pump are worn. Both these problems can be fixed, get yourself a manual. I had to rebuild mine last summer.
