115 Suzuki two storke late 90's think 97. Had red oil in pump, drained and put in trim a tiilt oil. Now it wont move at all. I was told to lift the engine, open the fill plug and fill, close the plug and lower, raise and repete several times. This would prime the system. It still wont work. Maybe the guy wanted me to kill myself raising and lower the engine that may times. Anyone have more advice? You can hear the electric motor run just cant get pressure to the cylinders

Re: Power trim and tilt still wont work

I had the same problem with my 98 dt140, got to the point where it wouldn't go up or down. A local mechanic suggested taking the trim unit apart and cleaning it. He said there is a very fine gray sludge that builds up for an unknown reason. I decided to rebuild the unit using parts ordered from http://www.brownspoint.com since I was going to be taking it apart anyway. Got it apart and there was the fine gray sludge the mechanic told me about. Cleaned it all up and replaced the o-rings ect. and now it works like new. The hardest part was finding a spanner wrench to take the caps off the tops of the cylinders. Ended making my own from a piece of
3/16" X 1 1/2" flat bar and bolts. Hope this helps and good luck
