Power trim from a 1985 25 hp to a 1971 50 hp - will it work?

Does anyone happen to know off hand if the power trim unit from a 1985 Evinrude 25 hp will work on a 1971 Evinrude 50 hp?

Not as a bolt-on. Likely wouldn't work with a shop fabricating stuff, either, as the 25hp trim unit isn't very robust...
