power trim harness question

I have a 1979 evinrude 75 hp without power trim but my controls have the up and down control button with a three wire conector .I picked up a evinrude power trim with a two wire motor that is in good shape and lines up perfect is there a way to use my three wire control switch on this two wire motor

gary. ya need a service manual. <br /> how many wires did the original motor have? and always remember the control circuits are not always the same as motor drive circuits. most the later style jonnyrudes used a two wire motor and relays to reverse polarity. up and down at the hydraulic pump is controled by pump motor polarity(rotation). I think the 76-79 3 cyl used a 3 wire motor with a single solinoid, if so to change to a 2 wire motor you will have to have the relay box assy and harness.
