I have a leak in one of the hydraulic hose that runs to my trim arm. The fluid is leaking where the flang seals against the nut (see red arrow in pic). I have loosen and tighten the nut but it will not seat. Any ideas? What do I need to do to take the line off? Do I need to lower the trim and bleed the lines?

Re: need help asap

I'd support the drive, put a fluid catcher under the junction and try backing out the fitting to inspect both the fitting and the housing. There's either a crack or stripped parts. If the nut snugs you probably have a crack, hopefully in the hose assembly. That's way less money than the trim arm.
That drive looks pretty nice, is it still on warranty?

I don't see a crack on the nut or trim arms. I just think the sleeve that goes in the nut and seats is not seating correctly. The boat is an 03 so there is not warranty. I can do what you suggested and see if I can get the connection to seat. I am a little scarred to take the nut off. I don't want to cause more damage.

I think I found the problem. I supported the drive with a jackstand and removed the hose. There is a small o-ring that seals the nut in the trim arm. The o-ring was damaged. I inspected and everything else looked great. No Damage in the threads. I am going to see if someone has that in stock and bolt it back up tomorrow. I am guessing that will fix my problem. Keeping fingers crossed.

I think I have the leak fixed but I was stupid and removed the jack stand supporting the drive. Now my trim gauge is off. How do I correct?

Try operating the trim/tilt from limit to limit a few times....it sounds like you may have a pressure sensing switch in the hydraulic lines somewhere... any air in the system may affect it's reading. Work it up and down a few times and see what happens....if you removed the support when the lines were open , you may have injested some air....
