Hello and good day to everyone, my 1986 johnson 110 on my glastron gt 150 seems to have a hard time reaching top speed, ive notice when full out and the motor trimmed to the max its not as high or trimmed out of the water as last summer. It seems to go down a little when im full out. I hope im making sense, is their an addjustment to be made ? Im sure its robbing me of at least 5 mph, last year with the trim/motor fully trimmed it did a solid 53mph now im down to 48mph i first thought is was my motor and she runs very well good compression new plugs and a decard as well.

Hello Gary.

Have you checked the fluid level in the reservoir lately? Simple to do. Raise the engine all the way up and remove the filler plug on the side of the reservoir. Top off the fluid level replace the plug. Cycle the engine all the way up and down 2 or 3 times and leave in the up position. Check the level again and top off. Cycle the engine up and down again. Do this until the level stays even with the bottom of the filler plug hole.

Have you noticed any leaks at the rams or fittings?

By the by....I used to do a LOT of fishing up in Quebec. Walleye and Northerns.....beautiful country.

Thanks for the info, i did replenish the oil resevoir at the start of the season, i dont see any leaks and the trim does make some strange noises at times when triming up, perhaps their is still some air left in the system. Are their brushes in the trim motor that need some looking at ?
