power trim on 2018 90hp mercury

power trim only lifting halfway. Tried adding fluid. That didn't help in fact made it worse. I can hear the motor run but nothing. it seems the fluid will not pump into the piston......looking for possible solutions to where I won't have to (B)reak (O)ut (A)nother (T)housand.......any help would be greatly appreciated

Hi. There is a known issue regarding exactly this. The shuttle valves in the trim unit are at fault. There are uprated valves now available. I got them sent out to me under warranty. There is a service bulletin released from mercury about it.

I actually figured it out......what i did was wit the motor lifted on it's kickstand i added a little fluid and pressed the trim up. Repeated this process until the motor lifted itself off of the kickstand.....works fine now.....what I was doing before was adding fluid and dropping the motor down and trying to cycle from there.......thanks for the response.
