power trim problem

i am having trouble with my power trim, my motor is a yamaha 175hp i have a 24 pitch 4 blade trophy prop,it is on a 21' bass boat, when i have the motor trimmed up and starting to take off the motor will drop all the way down, it has a new power trim motor on it could someone help me and tell me what could be the problem and how to fix it, thanks bill

Check the manual relief valve, usually it is on the bottom side of the transom bracket. It has O rings on it that can fail causing the leak down.

Could also be internal check valve failing, or the seals inside the trim motor to housing.
