Power Trim Problem

I have a 1987 Bayliner Capri 2.3 litre inboard. My battery was dead when we got to the lake I hooked the battery from my truck up to it backwards! I found the fuse to the motor and replaced that but my power trim will not work. Is there a fuse for that and I am not seeing it or is there something else I need to check. Please, any advice will be helpful! Thanks!

Re: Power Trim Problem

did you reconnect all the wires to the starter when you replaced the fuse??

there is a fuse similar to the starter fuse on the trim pump main 12 volt feed, check that too

Did not have 2 remove starter wires. I found a big 50 amp fuse on top of motor that wouldnt let it role over. Will start but no power trim. Do I need 2 still check trim pump fuse?

Depending on what model you have, there could be a fuse on the trim pump. Is this a mercruiser, OMC, volvo, what kind? The mercruiser pumps from 1987 do have a fuse on them, not sure about the other models.

This is a 1987 Bayliner Capri with a 2.3 litre Ford with a OMC cobra outdrive.
