Power Trim Problem

While at the lake I busted the up hose on the starboard side power trim cylinder. Got the motor strapped up and headed home. I replaced the hose, got what seems like all of the air out because when I bleed the lines, nice pure fluid comes out of both the up hoses and down hoses. The trim will raise just fine but when I lower it, it will go down about half way and just about stop. Dont think anything is bent since I can bleed the cylinders down all the way.

Any ideas??

Have you tried running the drive up and down multiple times to work any trapped air out and also watching / maintaining the oil level ?

Have someone stand on the drive as you lower it. When it's full down, pull the rear trim ram anchor pin out and hit the UP, both cylinders should move evenly. If one drives out before the other, remove the 'stuck' ones end cap and replace it...

Wellcraft....yes sir I've had it up and down many many times. Now it will go all the way down if I bump it up at the point it stalls and then trim down again a few times. That method seems to "bump" it down but still not working as it should.

Chris. I thought about disconnecting the rams and seeing if one operates different than the other but haven't gotten there yet. Good advice.

Beechbumm33 . I can't add anything to the good advice above, but I have a learning question: What is that SS tube traversing your lower unit?

It's a 'drive shower'... It pushes water up through the tube, while traveling forward, and it rains down over the drive, keeping the top housing cool while under load. If you have a high HP engine, probably worth it, but for anything under about 260-270hp, probably a waste of money...
