Hey there everyone...
At the end of last season a rough patch of road coupled with a crappy transom saver caused my motor to become unattached from the power trim piston/arm.

I'm lacking the proper terminology, but there is a large stainless steel pin (called a "shaft?" at mercurypartsexpress.com) that connects the motor to the trim arm (called the shock arm?). The pin seemed to have been held in place by a black plastic cap of some sort on each side. It is intact on the port side, but the opposite side is gone. There is a small diameter cable and a wire? coming out of the still-intact side..

What are these points of attachment called, how come they don't appear on the parts diagrams I've seen, what are they for..and what do I need to know the replace them?

Can anyone tell me anything, no matter how slight, about any of this stuff?

Thanks!
