Power trim vent

Hello All.

I replaced the trim motor on my 1992 Evenrude 50 hp this weekend and I'm having trouble refilling and venting the system. I've tried running in the up and down directions with the bypass open, and with it closed. So far the motor will only lift a couple of inches very slowly. Do I just need to be more patient?

tighten the manual release valve screw tighter.
