power trim will not go down 1993 mercury force

Please help, power trim will go up but will not go down.
Nothing worse than being on the lake and motor will not trim down..

Did you check the relays i hear in a relay system that one will go out and the other will work just fine. Thats where i would start if you havent already done that. Try switching them around too. One may not be making contact but may still be clicking.

it's probably your relays. They break 2-3 times more often than anything else.
they are cheap, like $2-$3 each. check iboats, amazon, ebay.
It might be a switch but it is just so darned cheap and easy to plug in a new relay.

There should also be a bleeder valve somewhere on the lower part of the transom clamp to back off and allow you to lower the motor in the event of T/T failure.

I got the relays for my 90 Merc at Advance Auto, take the old one along.
