I need to reconnect the trim motor wires to my 80 HP merc. Serial # OB309672. there are three solenoids, the top one still had the label for the blue wire, middle one still had label for the green wire but I can't remember where the black wire was connected. Looking at the solenoids the blue and green wires connect to the right side of the respective solenoid with red jumper wires connecting the left sides of the top two

3 selenoid? Are you sure? I looked at all my literature, and all I could find is 1 and 2 selenoid for all merc/mercruiser trim pumps.

Re: Power trim wiring help

Tim, On my trim pump, which is external to the motor, all the black wires are ground and tied together on the pump frame where they connect to the main ground (directly to the battery). The solenoids on your motor need to each have a ground wire on the one of the small terminals, in order to function. Therefore, I would expect all the ground wires on the three solenoids would be connected together.
