power trim

hi my trim control on the throtle works on the down position but it wont trim up.it will trim up however by useing the trailer button. this seems to say the the pump is fine. the switch seems good on the throttle. any ideas please.

trim sensor on drive unit(there are 2 sensors,one on left and one on right i cant remember which one it is so you could try both!)it is this that sounds faulty here!.<br />to test you can connect the two wires together,<br />but this should only be a short term fix!!<br />get a new one a.s.a.p!

I HAD A GOOD LOOK AROUND THE TRIM LIMETER AND FOUND A BARE WIRE THIS COULD BE THE PROBLEM, CAN THESE WIRES BE JOINED AND WATERPROOFED.

1st Off, Loose the CAP-LOCK.......<br /><br />You can Try is fix them, Or by-pass them Inside the Transom.....<br />Or, Pull the Gimbal Ring to Replace them....

If you are going to try to repair the wire get some good Ancor Marine adhesive lined shrink tubing. If you can't get any you can make your own by using ordinary shrink and puting some RTV in it before shrinking. Use a good Ancor marine or a 3M butt connector if you need to splice.<br /><br />Port side it limit swicth, starboard side is sender.
