Re: powerhead compatibility?

Any V6 crossflow with the flat exhaust plates (between the heads) is a direct bolt on. The V6 crossflow with the "bubble back" exhaust plates will not bolt up properly to your adaptor housing. Pay no attention to hp desiginations, you'll drive yourself crazy. V6 crossflow, flat back is all you need to be concerned about.

Re: powerhead compatibility?

It's probably not a job to tackle unless you have a fair understanding of mechanics and the crossflow line in general. There are a few special tools you'll need too. Everyone here will do whatever they can to help.

The plates that cover the exhaust cavity are between the cylinder heads. If you look at another powerhead and it looks like yours, it'll work. If those plates stick back past the heads at any point, that powerhead won't bolt up properly.

Re: powerhead compatibility?

yes you will have to use your electronics flywheel / starter / and soforth
unless you get a powerhead that is complete /theres quite a bit of stuff you will have to do you will need manual /money /nerve pills /beer and probaly a new wife or girl friend / your lower was stuck as mine was /i had a salt water motor by the time i finish this motor i will probaly have 1200 in it .i could have bought a couple of different motors by now v4s in the 1200 dollar range .
complete /but i decided that i wanted to do mine ,not sure how smart a move it was .what ever you decide to do let me know and i will try to help ya .
but im warning you now its a saltwater motor the money you spend you probaly wont get back in resale .so i will need to be something that you want to do .i have a long background in automotive rebuilds and this crossflow kicked my butt. but now its personal ,if it doesnt run well after the time i have put in 6 months i will unbolt it and drop it in river ,lol
have a good one bennyb
