I am replacing a seized powerhead on a 1999 johnson 50 hp motor with a complete used powerhead. It seems pretty straightforward, but I am asking you experienced members if there are any cautions or suggestions that you can make to make my life easier as I do the replacement. Thanks.

step one would be the condition of the used powerhead, imo.

Condition of the used powerhead = advertised to be a 1997 fully dressed 40 hp powerhead with 150 compression on both cylinders with bright blue spark.
Buying from South Central Outboards located in Illinois. I have no previous experience with them, but my dealings with them so so have been great and have made me confident that they are honest. Only time will tell if I made a good decision.
Back to the original question, could you guys please advise if there is any guidance that you can give me regarding the removal and reinstall of the powerhead? Thanks, I value your input.

Just nuts and bolts work.-----Nothing complicated.----One hidden nut at the back of the power head.---Also determine why yours failed.----Otherwise you might be doing the job twice.----New water pump kit for sure.
