Powerhead Swap

Hi all,

I've got a 74 25hp Johnson with a bad powerhead. Will a 25hp powerhead off a 1970 fit it?

Yes it will.----Easy swap.

Well, yes and no. How much do you intend to swap? You are going to find some differences, most notably the magneto. Different cylinder head required.

The whole powerhead, ignition and all.

And the 1970 has the better ignition of the two. (if it is in good condition, of course)
