So this is kind of an engine question, kind of not.
I'm going to be coming into possession of a 1970's boat hull, it's a 1974 Starcraft Stinger hull, 19' long, dry weight ~1100lbs
It is rated for a 175hp motor, but I do not currently have access to one that large. Still saving and looking for a good deal on a decent sized motor (Thinking 100 - 135hp).
What I do have easy access to currently, don't laugh, is a 30hp Tohatsu 4 stroke. I know it would be slow as hell, but would there be any major issues if I were to drop this little engine on temporarily while I source a bigger, permanent engine.I know there is no chance in hell of planing the boat, but at least putting around for the time being it should work, not very big lakes so no really rough waters or excessive wind.
Thoughts from the experts?
