I have a 1989 Force 125HP motor, how do you check the powerpacks and stator to see if they are good or bad? :)

Re: PowerPack or Stator problem?

Disconnect the stator at the bullet connector. You should get a reading of 500-600 OHMs accros the green/white leads from the stator.
There should be no continuity between iether wire and ground.

The CD unit require a test harness, and peak reading meter. You should get 400DVA.

But first, disconnect the black/yellow bullet connector which can be found in the tie-wrapped bundle of wires near the regulator.
This is the kill circuit. Crank the motor with this wire disconnected, and taped so it can't touch anything. If your spark is restored, the problem is in the wire harness, lanyard or igintion switches, and this black/yellow wire has a route to ground (thus killing all fire).
