Pre-Alpha 'R' Drive Anode Kit?

Hey Guys,

I've been scouring the interwebs searching for a suitable Magnesium Anode replacement kit for my 79 Pre-Alpha 'R' drive -- with absolutely zero luck. Am I looking in all the wrong places, or does a kit just not exist for this particular drive?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

No such animal as a Pre-Alpha. In 79 you would have had a MC-1 (Mercruiser One) drive, the R's were only out in 83 and 83.

Either one uses the same Magnesium anode kit, Mercruiser PN 888755Q02

It goes without saying I'm a newbie, but the stern drive identification has been a royal pain in the butt. I used the following link to aid in identification:

Any chance you'd know where to find a replacement starter online for a 79 Mercruiser, inline 6 (165hp)?

I had reviewed the Stickies at the top, but got confused when I received an email from a supplier which stated my drive was a 'Pre-Alpha' a couple weeks ago. I assumed he was correct -- clearly not the case though.

Now I'm paranoid that I'll end up ordering the wrong parts and end up having to ship everything back...haha.

MC 1 or also called type 1 ran from 1963 through 1975 and then pre alpha from 1976 through 1986 so you should have a pre alpha.
