I have broken teeth in upper unit and want to tear down the complete unit in order to do a total inspection.<br /><br />Removed upper and lower units from bell housing. Removed all the nuts from lower unit but haven't been able to seperate the two yet. I haven't taken the trim tab off yet, I assume it unscrews in the counter clockwise direction? Is there an allen screw under the trim tab that I will need to remove to get the two units disassembled? <br /><br />Anyone with some knowledge of a 1977 MerCruiser 120/140 Model repair or has the schematics/diagrams that you can scan and email to me I would greatly appreciate it.<br /><br />Please contact me at jfls40@yahoo.com, have some digital pics and can show specifically what I am talking about.
