Looking for a trim limit switch for a mercruiser serial #2584058. Looked around on a few sites including this one and havent found one. Anyone have an advice where i can get one, or the orignal part number.

What year, and what engine do you have. That serial number is to old to look up by SN alone.

assumin it's yer 1873(1973?;) )chiefton w/ 120 mercuriser. if it's the original drive. ya should have a mc-1 drive.
i got one of them too. best i know, the trim limit switch is nla.

ya can just use the trailer function. just don't trim to high.

or there is a by pass way to wire it too i believe so ya only gotta use one button instead of two.

if ya don't have the mc-1 drive. what i'm thinking may not be relevant.

there's trim function which raises the drive from it's lowest position of the drive to only tilted some up. use this is to trim the boat for best operation while running. this limit switch prevents the ujoints from being over angle + prevents the drive from escaping the gimble ring support flanges. trailer function raises the drive to it's full up position so ya can trailer it or possible shallow water operation (not to exceed 1200 rpm) to operate this, pressing the in switch is down. pressing the up/out button only is trim function and drive will only raise so far. pushing up and up/out together and the drive will raise to it's full up condition.

Don't do it , you will blow the gears right out of the out drive if you tilt too high!!! Grainger has a similar switch like the original , BUCKS....
