Preload Pin or Not ?

Hey people


Have a Mercury XR-4 0B289510 and had a question about the preload pin. When I dropped my L/U , I noticed that there was a hole at the top but there was no pin or spring in there.Does anyone know if my motor has that preload pin? Could it stick up there from heat or grease? And if I do, how would I go about getting it out? ( Remove powerhead?)

Get on the Crowleymarine.com site and look up the exploded parts diagram for your motor. It should have the answer.

Seems like I do not have a preloaded pin setup. Which is cool. Was making me nervous and didn't want to screw it up.
