pressing u joints alpha one

Hi and Happy New Year. I need to pick up a u joint press to replace u joints on an 88 Alpha One . When it comes to the press there are different sizes of OD and ID anybody know the diameter of the caps? Thanks in advance

Found these specs.... looks like 1" caps or there about
e are selling a new, in the box, u-joint spider from Sierra, mfg # 18-2104. This U-Joint replaces; Mercruiser 75832A2; OMC A912214, Volvo 897707-6, 853255-8. Measures approximately 3 1/8" W x 1" H x 3 1/8" D overall.

Includes straight and 90 Deg. Fitting

I'd get a ball joint press from your local auto parts supplier. Most of the big national chains will "sell" you the tool with the expectation you will return it. The nice thing about them is they are often aluminum and you can bring the tool to the work instead of bringing a big heavy drive to a stationary press.The sizes as he said, are both sides of 1".
