Pressure testing for water in cylinders?

I previously had a water leak. Pulled the covers and replaced with new gasket. Fired up in the driveway and no water out the exhaust. Took it to the lake for a test drive and it did good. I had no trouble hitting wot and it idled well also. No lag or sign it was bogging. I checked the plugs and found them to be cleaner than I think they should look but, I'm not sure of anything. Would a leak test be the way to find conclusive evidence or is this a guessing game? How could i know for sure the leak is fixed? Crank the motor with plugs out and look for water? The motor's a 1971 1150 inline 6.

if you are getting water in one or more cylinders, you will see the cylinder piston top with the leak to be steam cleaned. you can try to look through the plug hole, but you will see it best if you remove the head. if the leak is in the head it is an easy fix, if it is in the block you are looking at $$$$..my thought is that unless you have an emotional attachment to that motor run it till it blows, then buy a late 80s or early 90s XR motor. you can pick them up for around $1500-2000, great motors and they are worth rebuilding.

I'll take a look and see what they look like. Thanks.

One looks cleaner than the others but they all have burnt oil on them. If it were a small leak, it would eventually get bigger and more noticeable right? What concerns would I have if I used it like it is till I notice the leak worsen so that I have legitimate reason to mess with it?
