Working on my Sportcraft 252 by myself and so far things are going well. I was hesitant to work on it myself, but with Don and everyone's help here it is coming along nicely. So Thank you!

So far:

Replaced the controller, throttle cable and shift cable. Went with the teleflex side mount controller and TFXtreme cables. Put a new Shakespear antenna on and ran the cable and have it all hooked up.

The biggest challenge I have had is the darn spark plugs! Could they make the plugs any more difficult to reach on the Volvo 5.0FL???? I made my own socket and slowly but surely I am getting them all replaced. I actually do about 2 per night. It takes me quite awhile to get the plugs out. Only have 1 plug left to change and will do that tonight.

Hoping to have the boat in the water in 3 weeks!

I have found that if I do my research and ask questions here, working on the boat by myself is possible!

Yes. You could have twin i/o's twice the fun! Seriously though, good job so far. Take your time with the plugs. The can be frustrating but you don't want to cross thread them. Congratulations on being able to get it splashed in just a few weeks. Still way to cold up here for that. :smow:
