Hi,

Someone did a nasty yesterday to my cousins 2000 Corolla. Got hit in a parking lot and broke the lens off the parking light (Drivers Side)

I went looking and it seems that the entire light assembly has to be purchased; not just the lens. Still; the prices vary online from practically nothing ($7.78 at RockAuto) on upward.

My question is: Can someone point me top a source that explains what's involved in getting the old one off and the new one on? I don't have access to the car right now to take a look at it, and I don't want to offer my help if it's a complicated job.

Another question....RockAuto carries a brand called Sherman. $31.79. Do you think it's worth the difference to go with the Sherman over their cheaper counterpart?

Thanks folks..

I have no idea. I usually fix em with colored celophane. Duct tape don't work cause the light can't get through it.:D

They come out with the bolts inside the trunk..... easy work and usually sealed with sticky goo too.

I had one smacked out of my 2000 Corolla about 5 years ago. It got hit 5 times that year on four sides. Three different people at the wheel of my car. Other drivers just didn't seem to know it was there. The car was forever dubbed "the cracker box" because people would knock crumbs off of it. But I digress..... :)
I remember a $75 dollar assembly from Toyota and there was a latch that had to be pretty much forced by jamming a thin screwdriver into a slot. Let me know if that makes sense with what you see. Pics would help.
