New float for carburetor $7.95<br /> <br />Can of gasket remover $3.95<br /> <br />Working on outboard motor in the kitchen at night while wife is gone... Priceless.<br /><br />Ok, ok, the gasket remover will used outside for safety.<br /><br />No mosquitos and good light. I need to get it done so I can go fishing for the first time this year. I figured it is only fitting that I work on the boat motor in the kitchen that has been taking all of my free time since March.

Re: Priceless

The motor is actually pretty clean. Just need to remove and rebuild the carb, and put new plug wires on. I don't really have a garage and the basement is worse. I need the table to make sure I don't lose carb parts. If you saw the kitchen floor right now, you would understand. Literally 100 years of dirt and grime worked into the wood floor. I will protect it though. Not the first time I have done a carb rebuild at the table. She doesn't mind that in the least as long as it it not too smelly and I clean up. It is also only a 1957 7.5 HP Fleetwin

just a word of advice ... <br /><br />carb cleaner will eat away the finish of a varnished table even if it is just a little bit left in the nooks and crannies and you have some cardboard down "so shell never know"<br /><br />Getting a fancy flock backed table cover will only encourage curiosity, and shell look underneath<br /><br />Lord and Master of the house is now Lord and Master of The Garage, but hey, its cool out there ... if you call 117 degrees cool, but oh well ...<br /><br /> :p

Work is almost done. I have to get some fuel line tomorrow. I really don't think she would mind. I can say it sure was nice have good lighting for a change. I can say I wish I had my shop setup in the basement though. Maybe that will be my next project.
