I have a 2001 mercury 90hp. MY problem is my primer bulb looses pressure after i go through a no wake zone,this is after going wot, when i go to take off out of no wake i go about 20ft them engine boggs put in netrual pump up primer bulb then it is fine untill next time. Do notice a high pitch whine in motor

Possibilities,<br />1. Restriction in fuel line (kinked line, dirty filter, tank not venting)<br />2. Bulb no good (check valve not working)<br />3. Fuel pump weak, at low RPM -no wake zone- pump not drawing enough vacuum to pull fuel through.<br />4. Crank case pressure not sufficient to work pump at low RPM.<br /><br />High pitch wine... motor running out of fuel.. less fuel more air.. running lean (not good for your engine).. <br />I'd put my money on #'s 1-3. To check the Bulb you should be able to blow air in the direction of the arrow and not blow air in reverse. If bulb and restrictions check out, look into rebuilding fuel pump ($10 kit). Good luck, and let us know what you found.

My dealer did what i asked him to check and guess what fuel pump pressure was bad. Thanks so much for the help!!! took dealer 3 times to fix friends at iboats 1 time and it was free! :)

Your dealer must be too busy selling new Mercs to help with the ones he's already sold! :D Glad your problem is fixed. Gotta love this forum.

Check your line for air and your gas water seperator may be rusted through, it happened to me . :)
