primer bulb not getting hard!

For initial startup the primer bulb would not get hard. I go motor started but it acted like it was starving for fuel. So I replaced the bulb with a new one. Same thing. not even feeling like it is sucking any fuel through bulb. It is a new tank, vent is open. Arrow pointing towards motor. Just to try, i took the hose off the bulb and it took about 3 or 4 squeezes and it shot fuel out. SO i put hose back on and bulb hardened getting fuel to motor. I let everything sit till next day, still the same prob.Any ideas? Thanks!

You're leaking air somewhere. Fuel line cracked, seal not good at a connection, end of fuel line not seating correctly, something like that is allowing air in.

if you disconnected at the motor and primed into a small bucket..you say you get feul to shoot out??.. If so then the bulb is fine..and so is the line going back to the tank...your problem is toward the engine...

Does your engine have carbs?

I will check at every connection area and see if i can narrow down the area that is leaking air. and yes it does have carbs. I did not have any probs with it. But i did get a new tank, and new connections for the fuel line between the tank and motor.
