I am working on a 200 johnson ocean pro 2001.
It is getting to much oil mixture when i disconect the fuel line and squeese the fuel primer bulb.before it gets to the pump. after i squeese out about a pint of fuel/oil mix it clears up to just fuel.
Can it be that I have a bad primer bulb at the oil tank and somehow siphing back .its the original bulb.
The motor smokes bad. I haven't run it to long to see if it clears up.
don't want to p off the neighbors.
thanks

if the neighbors cant take you running your motor during the day (not at 3 O'Clock AM) then you have bad neighbors. A little too much oil is not a problem in my opinion, it is not enough that I would be worried about, I am a premix man anyway, I know that the new system works much better than the old VROs, but i just can not bring myself to trust it still. If you start having plug fouling issues you may need to find out whats up, other than that I would not worry too much about it, motors always seem to smoke more on the muffs.

Re: primer bulb on oil tank

thanks for the reply . i know a 2stroke smokes . when i squeese into a gar its looks and feels like 30% oil and thats before it gets to the pump. and it smokes like a coal burning choo choo train.when i hook it up.
I going to run it tomarrow for awhile. my hobby is always haveing acouple boats at my house, working on them. that big ocean pro is a loud sucker. 4 strokes are no problem
I live in kind of a ta ta neighborhood. and Im not ta ta just alittle na na.they could give me a problem if i run them all the time
Whats a primer bulb for on a oil tank anyway its never used.

thanks

If the oil is running back through the pump to the gasoline line, you need to find a way to prevent that.
You can disconnect the gasoline line if you have a quick disconnect, lower the oil tank, or add a petcock so that you can close the gas line. I understand that some of the primer bulbs have a valve that prevents backflow.
