my primer bulb wont stay hard on my fuel line can thin be caused by a bad fuel pump its a 55 hp chrysler with one carb and a metal fuel tank?

I would think you would have a bad primer bulb. It might be seaping air.

If you are talking about when the motor is running, its normal. Soft but not collapsed.

i have one that pumps but it never gets hard LOL no really do they have to get hard i never had an issue with starting .. i hate to chance it since its the one with the nice crimped ends ..
