primer bulb

hello.
i done a complete tune up on my 2000 90hp Johnson outboard. i clean and installed new gaskets on all 4 carbs. now when i pump the primer bulb, gas pours out out the carburetors and will not run. did i do something wrong?

Did you have your carbs apart? It sounds like the floats are sticking open.

i didn't set them. i replaced everything except for the floats

then you did not do a complete tune up.

if your floats are saturated, they dont "float" so they cant shut off incoming fuel

at a minimum you must check/set float height as part of pulling the carb apart.

If you have fuel coming out of all 4 carbs then you likely reassembled them incorrectly. Check to be sure the clips for the float needles are hooked up. The needle valve should should move up and down with the float.
