primer choke question, retrofit?

I have a 78 235 johnson and have had carb problems. I have a set of like new 83 235 carbs. They have the primer choke and no choke plates. Can I retrofit to the newer primer choke system? The fuel rail that supplies fuel to the carbs has a small line that is plugged. Can I use this to feed the primer solenoid? and if so what else do I need to retrofit Thanks In advance

Sure it'll work and it sounds like you've got it all pretty well figgered out. Obviously you'll need the primer solenoid valve but that's it.<br /><br />c/6<br />Hooty
